How do I know if I have birth trauma?

Birth trauma is not something that can be diagnosed with a check box. If you feel like your birth experience was in anyway traumatic, then you have birth trauma. For many, birth trauma is not necessarily related to a specific event or intervention, but is often attributed to feeling out of control, not being listened to or supported properly through the experience.

A birth preparation is an opportunity to learn about physiological birth in a way that allows you to make truly informed decisions that reflect your unique pregnancy and needs with knowledge of the tools that can truly support your body in birthing your baby no matter how you choose to birth. A birth preparation will cover many of the interventions commonly associated with birthing in the current maternity system, with a particular focus on induction of birth and caesarean section to ensure you are not only able to make informed and empowered decisions about whether to accept these interventions, but also how to best support yourself should you choose or feel the need to.
